UK in Saudi Arabia
The Consular Services at the British Trade Office in Al Khobar will be reduced to Mondays and Tuesdays during the period 13 June - 1 July. A consular officer will be available on 15/16, 22/23 and 29/30 of June at the British Trade Office. Anyone needing consular assistance outside of these times should contact the British Embassy in Riyadh on 01 488 0077.
The UK Border Agency is advising Saudis applying in Riyadh to leave at least 7 days to obtain a UK visa. Those applying in Jeddah or Al Khobar should leave at least 10 days. Non straightforward applications may take even longer to process. The delays are a result of recent IT problems which have meant that applications are taking much longer to process. The UK Border Agency apologises for the delays and they are working hard to correct the technical issues which have caused the problem

British Sattelite news - Foreign Secretary Hails Ceasefire Call
The British Foreign Secretary, Mr.David Miliband, says the United Nations has “served its purpose” after the Security Council last night adopted a British-crafted resolution calling for an immediate ceasefire in Gaza.
Mr.Miliband- speaking at the UN headquarters in New York- said the need now was to turn the good words on the resolution paper into changes on the ground.
