History of the Embassy

Embassy Building

The British Embassy building

In 1985 the Diplomatic Community moved from Jeddah to the Diplomatic Quarter, a purpose built suburb of Riyadh which houses the majority of foreign embassies and delegations in Riyadh.

The modern British Embassy building is home to our Political, Defence, Commercial, Consular and Visa Sections. There is also a British Consulate General in Jeddah and a British Office in Al Khobar.
